Our Legacy Menswear Autumn 2021

“We dig deeper where we are still,” says Our Legacy creative director Christopher Nying of once again looking locally for inspiration. For fall he brings us back to his hometown of Husqvarna to tell another Swedish story. This one is about the intersection of teenage boarding-school kids with the local punk scene, led by bands like Asta Kask and Strebers. It’s a tale of quick improvisation, waist-tied shirts meeting eyeliner and studs, rugby shirts, moto jackets, tweed, leather. It’s also a story based on Nying’s personal experiences, which contributes a feeling of authenticity to the collection. Extending that sense of realness is the inclusion of teaser pieces, in the form of tweaked vintage moto jackets, from an upcoming collaboration between OL and Eva Jangen, a local vintage dealer. The opening look, for example, features a leather sarong and pants paired with a 1955 jacket customized by Nying. A strong start to a winning collection.
