Our Legacy mined the sexual revolution for a summer collection dubbed “Joyous Reunion,” but it was less about sex per se than it was about tapping into a boundary-pushing mood. “There’s a disconnect between tradition and progression,” noted creative director Cristopher Nying at a showroom presentation at the Swedish Institute in the Marais, as couples emerged wearing craft-forward pieces like a vest or jeans collaged with a papier mâché of vintage magazines. It was a clever social commentary; just don’t put it in the wash.
