Simon Miller Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear

Spring outing for Simon Miller combined their perennial Japanese influences with an American Southwest attitude. Here was a collection that was sparse in spirit but had a great richness to it thanks to the fabrications the designers opted for. Their biggest aesthetic splurges came where color was concerned: Pops of burnt red and chartreuse felt right in step with more sun-bleached neutrals and tawny nubuck. Also new this season: A strong move into bags at opposite ends of the size spectrum, from the itty-bitty Bonsai with ring handles—which was right in step with street style’s current yen for tiny shapes—to a big bucket bag to carry all your worldly possessions and sling over your shoulder.
